I know some people might say I should leave this to an experienced electrician since Im just starting to learn but I done my research and feel confident enough to ask questions and figure it out safely. Ive seen discussions about whether you can use a 20a outlet on a 15a circuit and while I get that it might not follow code I noticed that 20a outlets look more durable and seem like they would last longer. Does the code restriction have to do with the risk of overloading the circuit by plugging in high draw appliances or is there something else behind it?
I also want to be clear that Im asking to better understand the reasoning not because Im trying to do something unsafe. If this setup is really not an option would like to know the best way to stick with a safe and code compliant solution. Your insights mean a lot to someone whos still learning.
