First couple days of 2026 and I’m already thinking about the stuff that makes the workday smoother, not just the stuff that looks good on paper.

So for the electricians here, what’s your 2026 trade resolution?

Could be communication with customers or with the crew. Could be tightening up your troubleshooting flow so you’re not chasing ghosts for an hour. Could be leveling up code knowledge. Or honestly, it could just be protecting your time and your body a little better, because hauling tools and crawling in weird spaces is not a “free” activity.

No pressure to write an essay. Just drop one thing you want to improve this year, and if you want, the small change you’re making to actually stick with it. What’s your 2026 upgrade?

My 2026 goal is tightening up my troubleshooting flow. Less bouncing between guesses, more sticking to a clear process. Small change for me is slowing down the first five minutes instead of jumping straight to tools.

Mine is communication. The actual electrical work is one thing, but setting expectations with customers is what keeps the day from turning into chaos. Small step for 2026 is doing a quick explanation before I start and then a short update once I have a direction, so they don’t feel like I’m just disappearing into the panel.
