how do you troubleshoot this logically Light loads but random trips

I’m confused about a basic breaker tripping situation. The circuit trips even when it feels like nothing heavy is running, and I’m not sure what I am supposed to treat as a real load versus something minor. I understand a space heater or microwave can do it, but this is happening on days where it is just lights, phone chargers, and maybe a fan.

A specific moment that made me scratch my head was this week when the breaker tripped while I was just working at my desk. It was frustrating but also kind of satisfying to know the breaker is doing its job, I just wish I understood what it is reacting to. What do i need to check first when the load seems light, and how do you figure out if it is a hidden load on the same circuit, a shared neutral issue, or a loose connection?

The logical starting point is to identify what’s actually on that circuit. Flip it off, then walk the house and see what died, including any sneaky stuff like basement outlets, exterior outlets, garage plugs, or a bathroom. Once you know the full list, you can test by unplugging everything and adding items back one at a time.
