Winter can make everyone a little rushed, so this feels like a good time to talk about lessons in slowing down. What early career mistake taught you the importance of patience or double checking your work?

Maybe it was a wire you thought you labeled or a panel you opened too fast or a measurement you trusted a little too much. Whatever the story was, how did it change the way you work today?

Early on I trusted labels more than I should have. Assumed a circuit was dead because it was marked that way. It wasn’t. Nothing serious happened but it shook my confidence enough to change habits. Now I verify everything no matter how confident I feel.
