what work pants, boots, or gloves are actually comfortable and hold up over time?

What work pants, boots, or gloves do you actually like wearing all day without hating life by hour six?

I’m asking because last week I wore a pair of boots that felt fine at first, then my feet were done by the end of the day. I’m trying to learn from people who have already tested everything. What brands have treated you well?

Cold week is the worst time to find out your boots are a mistake. For boots, a lot of folks do best with a real work insole upgrade and rotating pairs so one can dry out. For pants and gloves, fit matters more than brand, especially if you’re kneeling or doing overhead work.

Not a ton of time in the trade yet, but what helped me most was just going up a half size and picking wider toe boxes, then swapping insoles early instead of waiting. For gloves I keep coming back to whatever fits snug without bunching, because loose gloves drive me crazy.

I always buy the best ones out there. like Thorogood American Heritage for work boots, and Wrangler Riggs Workwear Technician Pants for the work pants

I like Red Wing boots- Plain toe, steel toe and climbing boots. I do not like any leather preservatives or conditioners, even Red Wing. They seal moisture in, making "hour six" miserable.

For gloves, my brand is Superior Glove Company. Most are made in Ontario. Some in Mexico or Central America. https://www.superiorglove.com/

For years I've used their cut resistant gloves, daily work gloves, safety gloves and welding gloves, TIG gloves & safety sleeves (among other safety items, including PPE). Their gloves seem to last forever.

For extra cold work, I like their SnowD200L mittens. (Formerly "-45-C" mitten). Super warm and they have a removable & washable nose drip wiper on each glove. I have severe Raynaud's Disease, so warm hands are critical for my safety. Those mittens work great.

Absolutely Superior Glove I recommend.

My one tip is probably that you shouldn't cheap out on the boots! Your back will thank you in ten years. Red Wing or Thorogood with the white wedge sole are the GOAT for standing on concrete all day
