Shop lighting retrofit

I'm changing my garage shop lights from those old fluorescent tubes to LEDs. I'm trying to figure out if I should use Wago connectors or just stick with wire nuts. I want things to be neat and make sure everything's connected well for a long time. What do you advise?

Both Wago connectors and wire nuts will do the job, but Wagos are generally cleaner, easier to use, and provide a more secure long-term connection, while wire nuts are perfectly fine if installed properly—so it really comes down to whether you prefer neatness and convenience or sticking with the traditional method.

Wire nuts are a very common choice and they are inexpensive and reliable when twisted on properly. Wago connectors on the other hand are a more modern option that many people find easier to use because of the lever design. They provide a clear visual of the wire insertion which helps ensure a good connection and you can use them with both solid and stranded wires. While Wago connectors cost more per piece the time you can save on the installation can make them a great value. But... up to you.

Waygo type push-in connectors are difficult (or not rated) to use with fine strand wire that is often found in fluorescent lighting fixtures. The lever type or twist on Wire Nut style will be easier.

Hint: If you do have fine strand meeting solid or 19-strand, leave the fine strand longer than the other & let it stick up. When the twist on connector is installed it will grip the fine strand quite well.

I am also using Wago connectors because they are sturdy and they look clean. but if you are used to working with wire nuts, it should also work.
