RCD Tripped

Hi there hopefully someone can help with this issue.
I got a Media wall fitted about 6 weeks ago then that night woke up to no power the RCD switch had tripped out it back on and everything came back. Turns out the installer had put screw into power cable going to socket in living room. Qualified electrician came out replaced the wiring and checked all sockets. This was 6 weeks ago and all working fine. Then today it tripped again. No appliances had been switch on I was in house alone and not using any devices.

From not being there all one can do is suggest possibilities.
The first, since all new wiring is installed, that the RCD got damaged and needs to be replaced. Can you substitute another one from somewhere else for a while to find out?

What came to mind, although less likely, was that there is damage to the new wire somewhere. Perhaps another screw hit the new wire as it was being fished in. Or- damage upstream or downstream from where the new wire was installed.

Intermittent things are difficult to find sometimes. I hope you find it easily,

This screams shoddy workmanship, media wall installers drilling into live cables proves how many pros cut corners. Six weeks later it's still tripping? I'd rip it out before trusting any repair

@Jimmy82, I imagine the issue here is an intermittent fault so I'd focus on the circuit itself. It could be a staple that nicked the new wire during the pull or a loose connection in a socket or junction box. I think the fact it took six weeks to trip again points to a very minor issue.

Try to methodically check every single point on that circuit. Pull the sockets and switches and look for any loose wires or signs of arcing. It's tedious, but often the simplest solution is the right one. @PGB1's recommendation to swap the RCD is also good, though it's pretty rare for them to get damaged like that.

You might have a hidden fault in the circuit, maybe a damaged cable or a poor connection somewhere
