Thinking back to when you were new, what’s the safety habit or code reminder that you now realize should be treated like a hard rule from day one? Every seasoned electrician has that one thing they repeat often, whether it’s verifying circuits with your meter, keeping clear of live panels, or respecting working distances.What’s the habit you’d pass down to someone starting out so they build it in early rather than learn it the hard way?

For me it’s always verify with a meter even if someone swears the circuit is dead. I learned fast that labels and breakers lie more than people think. That habit saved me a few close calls early on. Now it’s automatic before I touch anything.
