One thing that seems to evolve every year is not just the code, but how we explain it. Some conversations go smoothly and others turn into long debates over why something is required at all.

Heading into 2026, have you changed how you approach explaining GFCI or AFCI requirements to homeowners? Curious what wording, examples, or strategies have made those conversations easier over time.

I stopped leading with code language and started using everyday examples. For GFCI, I explain it like a fast reflex that shuts things down before your body even realizes something went wrong. For AFCI, I describe it as catching problems inside the wall before they turn into a fire. Once it’s framed as protection instead of rules, people listen more.
