Ccoker circuit extension.

Hi all. I have purchased 2 plug -in ovens for my kitchen refurb which come fitted with standard 13A plugs. I don't want to pit them both on the ring main, but the old cooker circuit outlet is in the wrong position. What's the simplest safe, permissable way to extend the circuit and add two single sockets for the ovens? I've had somebody have a look, but I wasn't convinced by his plan.

Smart move, you're right to separate them from the ring main!! The simplest, safest, and most permissible way to extend your existing cooker circuit is by installing Fused Connection Units. Start by wiring the existing cooker cable with a 32A or 40A breaker, into a 20Adouble-pole switched FCU at the original cooker outlet location. This unit must be rated for the total combined load of the two ovens. From the load side of this 20A FCU, run a new 2.5mm squared cable to the new socket locations. For each oven, you must install a separate 13A switched FCU before the final single socket outlet. The fuses in these final units are crucial as they provide the necessary 13A protection for the cable and the appliance flexes. This work is an alteration to a dedicated circuit and is notifiable under Building Regulations, so it requires certification from a qualified electrician.
 
@Damo3716 The simplest method is to extend the circuit using an appropriately rated junction box (like a 30A or 45A connection unit) located at the site of the original cooker outlet.
From that junction box, run two separate, correctly sized spurs to your new individual single sockets (one for each oven).
This method keeps the original circuit integrity intact and allows you to position the new sockets where you need them. it's important that all this work needs to comply with local wiring regulations and ideally be done/checked by a qualified electrician
