Ideal outlet and cable plate height for bedroom wall-mounted TVs

Quick question for you, when you're setting up wall-mounted TVs in bedrooms, what height do you usually choose for the outlets and low-voltage plates? I'm looking to keep things tidy and have a setup that feels just right for standard viewing angles. I'd really appreciate any tips or specific measurements you tend to stick with

I first off take to the customer - some like it high some like it low. In a bedroom I would suggest about 1.8mtrs from floor level (so can watch whist in bed). I would also get the TV bracket beforehand so you can ensure you don't put sockets etc where the bracket will cover

As for me, I usually place the outlets and low-voltage plates about 48–50" from the floor for a comfy eye level when lying in bed. If the TV is going above a dresser or console, I adjust it to center the screen at eye level. hope that helps!

When you pick a height, it would be wise to aim the device boxes where they will be in a gap on the back of the television so that the cords can tuck in. A clock box will recess these items.

Have you decided on the mount height already? I agree with everyone else here, I go for eye level and at least a gap so you can hide those cords

I usually mount bedroom TVs so the screen's center is at eye level when you're sitting or lying down. That means putting the outlets about 12–18 inches below the TV's bottom edge. often around 42–48 inches from the floor for a 40–55" screen, depending on bed height. I also place the plates right behind the mount to keep all the cables hidden for a neat floating look.
