Anyone get flagged for outdoor GFCI under the new code?

Anyone know if inspectors in Nevada have started enforcing the new outdoor GFCI rules yet? I’ve been hearing mixed things depending on the county like some say the new NEC changes are active, others say they’re still waiting on local adoption. I had an inspection in Henderson last week, and the inspector mentioned upcoming GFCI updates for outdoor circuits but didn’t actually cite anything yet. Feels like everyone’s interpreting the timeline a little differently. Would be good to know what everyone’s seeing across the state like especially in Vegas, Reno, and smaller towns... are they enforcing the new outdoor protection requirements yet, or still running off the 2020 code cycle?

Seems like the rollout’s all over the place right now. Some states already enforcing the 2023 outdoor GFCI updates, others still running inspections off 2020. I just wire everything to the new rules by default like it saves the headache of arguing with inspectors later.

@Arch_Mortamor, since late 2025, Nevada hasn't had a statewide adoption of the 2023 NEC. Enforcement of new outdoor GFCI rules is depend on the individual county or city, because Nevada law gives local jurisdictions the authority to adopt and enforce their own electrical codes

It’s been the same pattern in a few other states... early enforcement in urban areas, slower rollout elsewhere. For Nevada, it might come down to each jurisdiction’s building department schedule. Are your recent jobs primarily residential, or commercial installs where inspectors might be taking a closer look already?
